Arriving in Nice, we were so excited to see the blue water and beautiful coast! Getting there had been somewhat crazy, since our bus driver in Paris hit a motorcyclist as we were on the way to the airport. It was only a slight delay, though, that involved a lot of yelling in French. We got to the airport on time, and enjoyed our AirFrance flight to Nice!!
The views from the airplane were really amazing!
After taking the bus from the airport (this time with no accidents), we arrived at the most beautiful B&B. Our hostess, Marie Claude, was so sweet and hospitable. She calls her B&B La Contemporaine, which I believe in French means contemporary. We really enjoyed the modern decor! The bathroom was huge!
And we even had our own balcony, which we enjoyed each evening!
We had a nice sized queen bed, too.
Right when we arrived, we headed to the beach to swim. It was so much fun. Later, we picked up a pizza and ate it on the Promenade. Each morning, we enjoyed a lovely breakfast on Marie Claude's balcony.
Breakfast was so much fun! Our second day in Nice, we visited Villefranche-sur-Mer, Saint Jean Cap-Ferrat, and Monaco. It was a delightful day! This was the only day that we took our camera with us, because we didn't want to lose it on the other days when we went to the beaches.
Villefranche-sur-Mer was amazing! Beautifully colored houses, a clear view of the sea, and wonderful water to swim in!
After exploring Villefranche, we headed to Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, where we enjoyed a delicious lunch on the beach!
After lunch, we walked along the coast up to the train station. It was a beautiful seaside walk.
We took a train to Gare, and we walked along the sea from there to Monaco. The views were breathtaking!
Finally, we arrived in Monaco. We decided that the beautiful walks were the best part, as Monaco itself was disappointing. We just wanted to be able to say that we've been to Monaco, and I don't think we'll ever be back.
That night, we enjoyed pizza again, only this time we enjoyed it on our balcony! The next day, we enjoyed a lovely breakfast again, before heading out on another adventure.
Our last day in Nice, we traveled to Antibes, where we enjoyed more beautiful beaches and swimming! We so much enjoyed the French Riviera that we hated to leave, but we were excited for what was to come in Italy!
