Our second day in Bruges, we woke up to a glorious breakfast!
And then we hit the town, ready to conquer the tower!
In the main town square, it was market day, and it was really cool to see the fresh foods for sale. The strawberries smelled so sweet and delicious!
Then, we climbed to the top of this:
And were rewarded with this:
How wonderful!
More of our spectacular views of Bruges:
Oh, and to think, tomorrow we will be in Paris!
We even spotted our B&B below!
And while we were at the top, the bells rang!
It was quite a fun climb!
Afterward, Jamie paid .30 to use the bathroom (I just had to add that!), and then we continued exploring beautiful Bruges.
Our next stop was the local brewery, De Halve Maan Brewery.
They provided a fun tour of their brewing facility. We learned that they (as well as other Belgian brewers) add sugar to the tripel hop varieties.
And we enjoyed wonderful views from the top of the brewery!
They had an extensive collection of beer glasses, and I found my favorite...
And at the end, we enjoyed the tasting!
After the brewery, we were hungry, so we headed back to Chez Vincent for more fries plus burgers and shrimp. Everything was delicious and extremely reasonably priced.
We spent our afternoon exploring museums, churches, and other sights in Bruges.
Bruges is truly an incredible place!
We especially enjoyed taking a cruise along the canals.
And then, to top it all off, we headed back to Bitter Sweet for more waffles and beer.
For dinner, we ate traditional Flemish food at de Vlaamsche Pot.
It was delicious, of course, as it was served with a heaping portion of fries!
One last view of the town square...
and an assessment of the beers we tried while there. Our favorites were La Chouffe and Duvel Tripel Hop.
Paris here we come!
