Paris, Day 4: Versailles

Img_3156
Our last day in Paris, we spent the day outside of the city at Versailles. It was a fun day trip, and the gardens were especially beautiful! It was a musical gardens weekend, so while we were there the fountains were on and music was playing.

Since we had a late night the night before, we arrived at Versailles later than we had originally hoped to arrive, around noon. Rick Steves' guidebook suggests that you arrive when the palace opens, and we understood why! The line to get in was outrageous. Luckily with the Museum Pass we were able to skip the ticket line, but we still waited in an hour long line to go through security.

Once we were in, we listened to Rick Steves' audio guide of the palace as we toured.

The inside of the palace was beautiful, but the views of the gardens outside were better!

Once we made it outside, we just enjoyed the beautiful views!

While still listening to Rick Steves, of course!

The weather that day was the most amazing we could have asked for! The sky was a beautiful color of blue, so all of our pictures came out so well. The rest of our pictures from the gardens can be viewed in the gallery of images below.

We made our way back to Paris, and enjoyed a lovely dinner at Le Royal, which was right down the street from our apartment.

We were intrigued by the 13 euro deal that included a meal and dessert, and we were not disappointed by the steak frites!

This was the perfect ending to our time in Paris!
