I love Stanley!

Our adventurous day began in Brooklyn...

...and quickly moved to Manhattan.

We walked around Union Square,

brunched at Petite Abeile,

and headed uptown!

We saw the outside of Radio City Music Hall,

got pushed around underneath the Christmas tree,

and pushed around even more in Times Square.

Then we visited my precious friends from the Hundred Acre Wood at the New York Public Library. If you ever want to go, it's on 42nd street. I've visited these friends every time I've been in the big city. Can you find Stanley?

I can't wait to be a first grade teacher...

I was unable to put down this truly magical and heartwarming story of a china rabbit named Edward Tulane. It is written for kids ages 8-12 to enjoy, but I found it incredibly enjoyable myself, and I am definitely going to recommend it at my next book club meeting :) Whoever you are, you should read it too - you'll feel like a kid again!

Did you know that Ameilia Earhart and Eleanor Roosevelt were friends?

I didn't until I read Amelia and Eleanor Go For a Ride.

The book allows the reader the opportunity to become a part of history by joining two friends, who also happen to be real-life strong female figures, on an incredible journey that begins with an elegant dinner at the White House. Amelia describes to Eleanor the feelings she experiences while flying her airplane at night, and suggests that they take a trip! Eleanor agrees that it is a splendid idea, so they soar over the Washington D.C. night sky together. The best part is that these events actually happened!

In the book, Pam Munoz Ryan includes a special recipe from The White House, as well as details of the true events that occurred that night and how she discovered this amazing story.

It is really an interesting read, and a fun trip back in time! Even though it is a picture book, it is fun for adults too!
